Spectrum 1.4.0 - Chaos and Exploration
This update extends progression up to the point of breaking Bedrock. Also brings a wide range of new equipment, machines, enchantments, a new multiblock structure, worldgen and all long list of improvements and fixes.
To discover the new worldgen structure, you will have to discover new chunks.
Discover Relics of the Ancients
Between the rough stone Spectrums first worldgen structure awaits you. Built from an unknown civilization it was protected from intruders for ages. Only who is deemed worthy may enter unharmed. There is new unique and useful loot to be gathered, including a bit of foreshadowing

Jade Vine
Maybe the most beautiful plant I have ever seen in Minecraft, sprited by yours truly azzy. This plant is an absolute multitalent, providing multiple new resources. But it's also a challege to grow. Can you meet it's high needs?
Memories
No longer shall the remnants of the mobs you have slain be forgotten. If you gathered Mob Heads when slaying creatures before, you will be able to remember it in form of a memory - until it manifests back into physical form. (there will come a way to get mob heads in the coming updates without hurting animals )
Harder, Faster, Better Stronger
Long awaited, Bedrock Armor & Tools are now available! These are unbreakable, have slightly higher stats than Netherite and come with a single enchantment that exceeds it's natural max level.
Idols
Blocks, that are designed with a specific mob in mind, having a unique use tied to that mob: Some giving a short burst of a potion effect, causing fire, explosions (automining!), teleporting you around and other unique effects. they are activated on hit (even with projectiles) and have a short cooldown. Awesome to build parcours with. With Idols also come two additonal recipe types: Freezing and Heating. With those you can convert come types of blocks into others.
Note: Textures for them are still very barebones and not unique per block. Reason is, some of them may be reworked into other, more imposing structures. But for now I wanted to include them nonetheless you you can play around with them. Happy about any form of feedback regarding those.
Crystal Apothecary
Tired of idling in Geodes just to watch paint dry gemstones grow? Boy do I have the thing for you. Placed in a geode, the Crystal Apothecary automatically harvests fully grown Gemstone Clusters. While this automatic harvesting is not as effective as manually (for the lack of a tool / fortune) it also runs when far away in unloaded chunks! (well, it does not, really. It simulates the drops for the missed time when loaded again, but the final result is pretty much the same & it's much lighter on servers than chunk loading)
Banner Patterns
Always wanted to have an Amethyst Shard Banner to show your love for the buggiest mod around? Now you can! Quite a few of Spectrum's tools and resources can now be used as Banner Pattern. When able to do so, the item lists it in it's tooltip.
Localisation
Thanks to a ton of work of Yoru_Vakoto and Wudji_Notfound, Spectrum is now available in 2 additional languages: Chinese and Brazilian Portugese. Special Thanks to Yoru_Vakoto for all the helpful reports on typos and phrasing, both in the language file and guidebook.
Improvements
- Black Hole Chest can now process an unlimited number of items / xp orbs at once
- Wireless Redstone Receivers can now receive signals from an unlimited number of senders simultaneously
- Started to implement Spectrum's upcoming magic energy system, Ink
- Added lots of new advancements and advancement triggers
- Added lots of unbreakable structure blocks
- Moved the CMY Pedestal advancement after having used the Pedestral once before already. This should hopefully clear up that the Pedestal is activated through Redstone and that the mod is perfectly playable for quite some time even if not having found all 3 gemstones
- Added the "Immunity" status effect, making players immune against any negative other status effects (exceptions can be added to a tag)
- Fusion Shrine recipes can now use input counts > 1. Lots of recipes make use of that now
- Improved Fusion Shrine performance
- Lots of improvements to the guidebook
- Added the Universe Spyhole
- Added the Indestructible enchantment
- Made fortune work on Azurite or... a bit
- Added a new still unavailable blocks & items
- Added a guidebook entry for the base trinkets
- Potion Brewery recipes can now explicitly state that an effect should not be usable for Potion Pendants
- Capped the Potion Pendants max Level to 3. This is now listed in the tooltip
- Knowledge Gem can now be filled / drained indefinitely in creative
- Moved from Fabric Tool tags to the new Common tags
- Pedestals and chests retain their custom names when placed / broken
- Added awful hacks to untangle the vanilla thing that is hardcoded shears to make Bedrock Shears work
- Added Pedestal recipe for Unstable TNT. Shoutout to all Alpha players!
- The Enchanter can now add Enchantments to items that can normally only be applied via anvil, like Unbreaking to Elytras. Pricy!

- Bedrock Anvil lists it's uses in the tooltip

- Improved Chalk compat recipes
- Clover's Favor now works on the Wither
- Improved the wording for the hints to make them more helpful
- Instant Health and Instant Damage can not be put into Potion Pendants anymore
- Saturation Potions and Pendant have gotten the nerf-hammer treatment
- Pedestal Upgrades take a shorter time to craft
- Added new recipes for vanilla items, like the Heart of the Sea
Fixes
- Fixed Enchantment Upgrading recipes being broken in combination with KubeJS
- Fixed Potion Reagents not having to be unique
- Fixed time calculation in the fusion shrine being off
- Fixed Potion Pendant Tint being off, sometimes
- Fixed Potion Pendant showing particles when worn, even if a potion reagent was used that surpresses them
- Fixed Phantom Frames not rendering from afar
- Fixed the Stone Cutter recipe for Notched Polished Calcite
- Fixed Enchanter particle effects sometimes getting desynched clientside
- Fixed the color mixing page showing wrong compound colors for black
- Fixed a mixin crash in combination with another mod when breaking chests with Piglins nearby
- Fixed Compacting Chest voiding items
- Fixed the "Lossless Compression" advancement
- Fixed Frost Walker freezing Mud & Liquid Crystal to Ice
- Fixed z-fighting and missing textures in Decostone models
- Fixed Production Surge not being marked as unavailable
- Fixed Mermaids Brushes being able to be harvested without Shears
- Staffs and Ender Splices do not count as a Shield anymore, when using them
- Moved some Advancement triggers from "item_used_on_block" to "placed block". This fixes some rare cases where advancements did unlock where it would not make sense, like when using Glistering Melon Seeds to open Doors
