Usage
To sort an inventory, simply hover over it with your mouse and press the keybind (default: middle mouse button).
You can hold Shift
, Control
or Alt
when pressing the sort button to use a different sorting
order.
Other Operations (v2
)
In addition to sorting, ClientSort v2.0.0-beta.1
and later versions include the following
operations:
- Stack Fill
- For all partial stacks in the other inventory, attempts to complete them using items in the target inventory.
- Transfer
- Moves as many items as possible from the target inventory to the other inventory.
Interaction GUI (v2
)
In addition to the keybinds, ClientSort v2.0.0-beta.1
and later versions support adding small
buttons to the inventory screen, which can be used to trigger operations.
-
The GUI is disabled by default, but can be enabled via the config menu or the editor screen.
-
The editor screen can be opened via a keybind (unbound by default).
-
When the buttons are visible, you can right-click on them to open the editor screen, which allows you to adjust the position and show or hide specific buttons.
-
ClientSort uses a whitelist system to decide when to show the buttons. You can enable or disable the buttons for a particular inventory via the editor screen, or by manually editing the whitelist in the main config menu.
Blacklist Policies (v2)
Separate to the button layout whitelist, ClientSort v2.0.0-beta.6
and later versions support
disabling individual operations in specific inventories client-side using a list of policies.
-
A Policy identifies the associated inventory type, and specifies which operations can be used.
- For example, the policy
com.simibubi.create.content.equipment.toolbox.ToolboxMenu,0,0,0
disables all operations in the inventory menu of Create Toolboxes. - If you have this rule and attempt to sort a toolbox (with server acceleration either on or off), nothing will happen.
- For example, the policy
-
Policies override the button layout whitelist. That is, if you have configured a button layout to show the interaction buttons in a particular inventory, and then you add a policy to disable operations in that inventory, the buttons will be hidden automatically.
-
If installed on a server or in singleplayer, ClientSort automatically blacklists server-accelerated operations when it detects an incorrect state (such as item duplication).
-
The blacklist is stored in the
clientsort-server.json
config file, which can be manually edited and reloaded using the/clientsort reload
command. -
The serverside blacklist is not synced to clients, so connected clients may still attempt to sort the blacklisted inventory (unless they have a client-side blacklist policy for it), but nothing will happen.
Installation
Client Required, Server Optional
As the name suggests, ClientSort is fully functional when it is only installed on the client. However, if it is also installed on a server, connected clients with the mod will be able to use near-instant operations instead of the normal rate-limited operations.
Dependencies
Fabric: Fabric API, ModMenu, Cloth Config API
