Overview

"Ricecooker" (밥솥) is a nickname given to the Seoul Metro 2000 series (4th batch) and 4000 series (3rd batch).

The Seoul Metro 2000 series (4th batch) is a type of train that runs on Seoul Subway Line 2. A total of 21 10-car trains and 1 4-car train (for Seongsu branch) were produced by Hyundai Rotem in 2019-2020 to replace the older 2000 series (MELCO / GEC).

The Seoul Metro 4000 series (3rd batch) is a type of train that runs on Seoul Subway Line 4. A total of 5 10-car trains were produced by Hyundai Rotem in 2020 to provide more services after the opening of the Jinjeop Line.

These trains are designed by Büro Staubach.
