Immersive Water 1.5.3

1.21.6 update!!!

CHANGED:

  • The watery overlay you get when submerged in water has been temporarily removed until I find a better way to make it work. The config option still exists as a reminder for me to add it back.

CHANGED:

  • Rain ripple particles are now a little more transparent.

FIXED:

  • Fog now works correctly in Multiplayer.

NEW:

  • A new config option has been added to make it possible for fog to spawn during rain, regardless of the time of day. If it is not raining, the fog will follow its normal time restrictions.

CHANGED:

  • The time window in ticks during which fog will spawn has been expanded from 22300-23961 to 22300-1000 (next day).

FIXED:

  • The config option that toggles fog now actually toggles fog. Previously, it was hooked up to the rain ripple toggle by mistake.

NEW:

  • A new fog particle will now appear in the morning near open bodies of water. It is a little laggy (I'll try to optimize it later on, but for now you can decrease its spawn distance in the config). As with most other particles this mod has added, fog can be disabled in the config.

FIXED:

  • Entities and projectiles that spawn underwater will no longer immediately create splashes.

CHANGED:

  • The vertical velocity of indirect splash particles has been slightly decreased.

FIXED:

  • Rain ripple particles can now be seen beyond the default particle distance if you increase the corresponding setting in the config menu.
  • Splash mist particles now fade out all the way before disappearing.

Immersive Water 1.4.0

NEW:

  • Indirect splash particles (I have no idea what else to call them) are now able to spawn when a high-velocity entity moves across the surface of the water without touching it. Like most other particles, this can be toggled in the configuration.

CHANGED:

  • Mist particles (the somewhat-transparent ones that come from splashes) now spread out more.

i literally have no idea what to add, so here's an update that does almost nothing. why don't i wait for an idea? because people like seeing numbers go up.

CHANGED:

  • Gameplay features have been removed. This mod is supposed to be about particle effects, and nothing more.

finally, something new!

NEW:

  • Gameplay-affecting features (disabled by default) can be enabled to further enhance the immersion provided by this mod while still being usable on vanilla servers! Currently, the only toggle available is one that allows you to disable elytra usage when you are "wet" (a good indicator for when you are wet is the presence of dripping particles appearing from your player)

CURRENT ISSUES:

  • With the new toggle enabled, elytra use seems to be disabled a tick AFTER it begins, rarely allowing for a single tick of flight. This doesn't cause much of an issue, but sometimes fall damage can sometimes be negated if you spam the space bar fast enough during a fall. It's very inconsistent though and not something you would want to do in a hardcore world, so again, it's not much of an issue.

more tiny updates woohoo...

CHANGED:

  • The water overlay now actually resembles the vanilla water texture. I'm not sure if it looks better or worse, but oh well.

a tiny update to fix a dumb coding mistake i made when setting up configuration. seriously, tiny. so extremely super tiny. but you know what's still massive? >:)

FIXED:

  • Mod Menu is no longer required to run the game. It is still highly suggested for easy configuration, though.

i got bored in school so here's another update lol

NEW:

  • When a player or entity is exposed to rain, the dripping effect will start and will fade away if they move under a block or the rain stops. It uses the same logic as the dripping effect that happens when exiting a body of water.

Immersive Water 1.2

NEW:

  • When a player is submerged in water, their screen will be tinted with a subtle overlay and will then "dry out" very quickly after the player exits the water.
  • The configuration menu has been expanded with a new tab for toggling the visibility of each particle and the new overlay.

CURRENT ISSUES:

  • If updating from a previous version, the configuration may break. I have no idea why. I recommend checking the configuration after updating to make sure nothing is broken.

Immersive Water 1.1

NEW:

  • A configuration screen has been added (along with a bunch of new mod dependencies, sorry!), allowing the player to change the radius in which rain ripple particles will spawn. More settings will be added over time.

CHANGED:

  • Dripping particles now become less frequent over time on an entity as it "dries off".

FIXED:

  • All entities (including items!) will now create splashes when falling into water and dripping particles when exiting.

Immersive Water 1.0.1

by co7e on Apr 25, 2025
Download

FIXED:

  • Rain ripples will no longer appear in biomes that don't have rain (example: deserts and savannas)

Immersive Water 1.0

by co7e on Apr 24, 2025
Download

NEW:

  • When a player jumps into water, 8 to 32 splash particles will appear at their location depending on how fast they fell. Faster falls will also launch the splash particles higher. When these particles fall back into the water, a ripple particle is created on the surface of the water.
  • When it is raining, ripple particles will appear on any nearby surface water block.
  • When a player exits a body of water, dripping particles will appear from that player until 10 seconds have passed.

CURRENT ISSUES:

  • Only player entities will create splashes and dripping particles.
  • There is no configuration.
